The Bible
We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. It reveals who God is, how we can know Him, and how we should live.
2 Timothy 3:16–17
At Summer Grove, we believe the Bible is God’s Word, Jesus is our only hope for salvation, and the church exists to glorify God by making disciples.

We believe the Bible is the inspired, trustworthy, and authoritative Word of God. It reveals who God is, how we can know Him, and how we should live.
2 Timothy 3:16–17We believe there is one true and living God who eternally exists as Father, Son, and Holy Spirit. He is holy, loving, all-powerful, and worthy of our worship and obedience.
Matthew 28:19We believe Jesus is the eternal Son of God who became fully human while remaining fully God. He lived without sin, died on the cross for our sins, rose bodily from the grave, and will return again.
John 1:14; 1 Corinthians 15:3–4We believe every person is created in God’s image but separated from Him by sin. Salvation is God’s gift of grace, received through repentance and faith in Jesus Christ alone. We cannot earn salvation through good works.
Romans 3:23; Ephesians 2:8–9We believe the Holy Spirit convicts people of sin, brings new life to those who trust Jesus, lives within every believer, and empowers us to grow in Christlikeness and serve God.
John 16:8; Galatians 5:22–23We believe the church is a family of baptized believers united by faith in Jesus Christ. Together, we worship, grow in God’s Word, care for one another, and carry out His mission. Jesus Christ is the head of the church.
Acts 2:42–47; Colossians 1:18We believe baptism by immersion is an act of obedience that publicly declares a believer’s faith in Jesus. The Lord’s Supper is a meaningful remembrance of Christ’s sacrifice and a celebration of our unity in Him. Neither ordinance brings salvation.
Matthew 28:19; 1 Corinthians 11:23–26We believe God designed marriage as a lifelong covenant between one man and one woman. Families are called to reflect God’s love, with parents responsible for teaching and modeling biblical faith.
Genesis 2:24; Ephesians 5:22–6:4We believe every follower of Jesus is called to share the gospel, make disciples, serve others, and demonstrate God’s love. The church exists to take the good news of Jesus to our neighbors and the nations.
Matthew 28:18–20; Acts 1:8We believe Jesus Christ will return, God will judge the world in righteousness, and every person will spend eternity either with God in heaven through Christ or separated from Him in hell.
John 14:1–3; Revelation 20:11–15Summer Grove affirms the Baptist Faith and Message 2000 as a summary of our biblical convictions.
