RITUAL OR RELATIONSHIP
FROM YOUR PASTOR’S HEART…
Do you ever feel like you’re going through the motions of Christianity? Do you ever say to yourself, “What’s the use?” Do you find yourself asking, “Where is God?” Are you sometimes afraid that your whole life could cave in from pressure? Do you experience anger at God because you feel He’s not doing His part? Has a spirit of weariness in well-doing been haunting you? All of the above feelings are symptoms of failing to live Christianity from a relational basis.
When we are not living in a close fellowship with the Father, our Christianity can become a wearying exercise of the flesh. He is the power source in which we must ABIDE.
- A period of excitement.
- A routine of comfort.
But…
- A life of activity but emptiness…
It is so easy to fall into religious ritual without much spiritual reality. Our lives become full of activities and events without much spiritual depth and meaning. We can live this way over a long period of time and not realize our shallowness during which time we feel guilt and ask ourselves. “There must be something more to Christianity than I’m experiencing?”
This usually results in:
- A little more prayer and a lot more work.
When all the time it’s not something, but someone.
Beloved, until we find that someone, and come to abide in His presence, our lives will be built on the fringes of reality.
In the middle of ritual and busyness our lives become disoriented. Life becomes a puzzle totally unworkable with bits and pieces of our lives together.
- We are the dwelling place of God.
- We are to be the temple of His Holy Spirit.
- We are to be inhabited by Him.
OUR BODIES…HIS HOME!
In His Love,
Bro. Billy
