The Women’s Ministry is proud to support the efforts of Journey of Sisters! Go to journeyofsistersministry.com to find out more about this great ministry! The following are JOS events:
August 16, 2010 at 7:00 p.m. in the SGBC Banquet Hall.
Cancer, Rape such ugly words and words that we pray will never touch our life, but they do! Would you like these ugly words to be replaced with HOPE? LOVE? Journey of Sisters Ministry will have two very special women that are survivors! We will have a woman, Candi Wood Lindley, that was given six months to live, went through at least 9 surgeries, facial reconstruction, and now it is twenty years later. Then we will have a young mother, Heather G. Wilson, that was home one evening with her children in the next room and she was raped. Heather survived to become a mother of a young baby that was a result of the rape, truly a survivor!
The tickets are $18.00 each on line at journeyofsistersministry.com or $15.50 if they are purchased through Kimberly Head in Women’s Ministry phone #683-6953.
We will be having a “Chair-i-ty” Raffle event. We will feature raffle tickets for $5.00 each to win a golf themed recliner, filled with Ryder Cup signed prints. A zebra chair and ottoman also donated by Ivan Smith. A hand painted hot pink and zebra stripped children’s table and chairs set. The last chair set will be two oversized LSU tailgate/patio chairs donated by Tiger Town. We will then make a donation to the American Cancer Society and the Heart of Hope House.
