Sunday Activities

Sunday School

Sunday School begins at 9:00 am

Our Sunday School teachers are in the classroom by 8:45 am to accept your child. Your child is special to us here at SGBC. We believe that preschoolers are able to learn about Jesus, so we have set up their Sunday School classes to teach them in ways they learn best – HANDS ON!! We use Lifeway Curriculum’s designed especially for each age group. Your child should receive a page from their Learner’s Guide each week so that you can repeat the bible story and verses with them throughout the week.

Worship Care

Worship Care begins at 10:30 am

During this time volunteers will continue love on and care for your child while you enjoy worshiping with adults.

Our Registration and Security Procedures

Security for your child is a top priority at Safari Park. All parents are required to check in at one of the computer stations to receive their security tags. First time attendees can register at the Preschool Welcome Desk to receive their security tags. All children newborn to kindergarten must be registered to enter the classroom.

Drop off and Pick-up Procedures

After printing security tags you will take your child to their designated classroom. A teacher will meet you at the door to receive your child. For your child’s protection, we ask parents and siblings not to enter the room. This leads to crowding and confusion.
Parents of babies are asked to complete a Baby’s Schedule card and update as necessary. When you return for you child, you must present your security sticker to the teachers. Please do not send older siblings to get preschool children. Preschoolers are only released to adults with the proper security badge. If you lose your badge, you can get stop by the Preschool Welcome Desk to receive another tag by showing proper photo identification.

What to pack

  • Your child’s name should be on ALL items you bring. (diaper bag, bottles, cups, pacifiers, etc.
  • Only plastic bottles should be used in the preschool area.
  • Please have formula already mixed for the amount of bottles your baby will need.
  • Send an ample supply of diapers, wipes, and formula. If you breast feed, we have a nursing mother’s room at the end of the baby hall.
  • Older preschoolers should have a change of clothes including underwear and socks.
  • Bring and label any comfort items (pacifier, blanket, etc) and let the teacher know.
  • We ask that you leave personal games and toys at home. Sharing can be difficult, and there are plenty of activities planned for your child while they are here.

Parking

There are designated parking places near Entrance #2 for parents with babies. Look for the Safari Park signs.

Snacks

During Worship Care preschoolers are given an age appropriate snack. These snacks include: apple juice, animal crackers, goldfish crackers, Ritz type crackers, cheerios, etc. We do not give bed babies anything other than what is brought by the parent. Babies who are bottle-fed or who drink from a sippy cup should come to church with all of those supplies in their diaper bag. Bottles should be prepared and labeled with the child’s name. If there is particular information concerning feeding that we need to know, please inform the caregiver in your child’s room.

Illness policy:

The health and well being of your child is of critical importance to us. Therefore, as a courtesy to you and other families we ask that you not bring your child into the nursery area if your child has had in the last 24 hours any of these symptoms: fever, vomiting, diarrhea, persistent cough, croup, runny nose with colored discharge, red or irritated eyes, unexplained rash, or any childhood disease or illness. If your child shows any of the above mentioned symptoms while in our care, you will be contacted to pick them up.
