If you believe you are in physical danger please contact the local authorities, in the same way also contact your nearest counseling or mental health facility if you or a loved one is depressed, manic, suicidal or mentally unstable.
SGBC does not accept any liability for any injury, loss or damage incurred by use of or reliance on our information or timeliness of our response to your email(s) or other communications.
Any contact with SGBC ministers or counselors is not intended to be used as medical advice and is not intended to be used to diagnose, treat, cure or prevent any disease.
Confidentiality Policy
In general, all communications between you and Summer Grove Baptist Church (SGBC) are confidential. No information about you will be released outside SGBC without your permission. The EXCEPTIONS to confidentiality include: (1) a counselor or minister determines you are a threat to yourself or another person, (2) there is suspected abuse or neglect of a child, an elderly or disabled person, (3) there is a medical emergency, (4) there is a physical need for food, clothing, or shelter and we need to contact another ministry, church or organization to assist you, or (5) through a court order to disclose your records. In the event of such a situation, we will make every effort to discuss it with you before taking any action.
The SGBC ministerial and counseling staff find it helpful to consult with other professionals to better serve you. During consultation your identity is concealed and confidentiality is maintained. In addition, SGBC keeps a record of your email(s). This record contains all the information you completed within the 'Compassion List' form and any subsequent correspondence. It is held for a short duration until deemed dated.
