Honoring the U.S. Vets
Orin Smith
Today stared off with a gourmet breakfast from the hotel. We went on a adventure to pass out flyer’s about our carnival. We split into to groups and canvased the local neighborhood to encourage the locals to participate. We had good old American McDonald’s for lunch and then off to the VA med center. We sang three songs plus the star spangled banner for our veterans. There was World War II to current Iraq veterans there. They were very appreciated of us for taking time to spend with them and their personal gifts. We shared the gospel and got time spend personal time with about 20 of them. Some people were heartbroken and were sobbing and some were rejoicing to here the old war stories. After the great visit we traveled to the ZOO. I personalty remember taking that picture on the front entrance when i was 5 with my family. The zoo gave us a chance to relax and also enjoy St. Louis. The weather today was perfect even thought the meteorologist said it was 60% chance of rain and flood warning. Tomorrow we will have a carnival and great bonding time with the community. PLEASE pray for good weather and all that we are doing.
